On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the MBA in International Business (MBA-IB) Program at the University of Tsukuba celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a festive Homecoming event at the Tokyo Campus. More than 210 alumni, faculty, and friends of the program gathered to reconnect across graduating classes and honor two decades of academic and professional achievement.
The afternoon began with opening remarks by Professor Rémy Magnier-Watanabe, Chair of the MBA-IB Program, followed by a heartfelt video message from President Nagata. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Jesper Koll, renowned economist and long-time Japan observer, who shared an inspiring and forward-looking perspective on Japan's economic trajectory.
The event featured updates and reflections from 23 alumni speakers representing a broad spectrum of graduation years and career paths. It concluded with the introduction of the 2026 Homecoming Committee, composed of current second-year students.
A lively after-party was held at a nearby restaurant, where more than 110 participants continued the celebration over food, drinks, and shared memories.
Special thanks go to the organizing committee—especially alumni leaders Toshihiro Misawa and Itsuki Tomiyama—for their outstanding efforts in making this event a resounding success. We look forward to continuing this tradition and welcoming everyone back again next year.
