University Ethics Challenge APAC Regional Finals 2021

Congratulations to Team Tsukuba for winning the first runner-up of University Ethics Challenge APAC Regional Finals 2021.

It was a great achievement as only six local winners, selected from around 120 universities, joined the APAC Regional Finals and represented Japan (University of Tsukuba), Philippines (Ateneo de Manila University), Singapore (Nanyang Technological University), Pakistan (New York University Abu Dhabi), Malaysia (University of Malaya), and India (Indian Institute of Management), respectively.

We greatly appreciate the strong support from CFA Society Japan, Heiwa Real Estate Co., Ltd., FinCity.Tokyo, Mr. Kenny Kawarazaki, and committee volunteers. Moreover, we thank all the participants for the APAC Regional Finals and insightful questions and comments from Judges.

Here are the comments from our team members:

"Being able to represent Japan for the Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Finals of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute Ethics Challenge was truly a remarkable and memorable experience in my MBA life. The event was very competitive and being able to bring home first runner-up was not an easy feat.
My sincere thanks go to the CFA Society Japan for their full support, Tsukuba University for the opportunity, Gu-sensei for the guidance and my teammates for the great dynamics we had as a team."

"I don’t think that we were successful if we could not establish the great team work.
CFA Ethics challenge became one of great memories at my campus life and my great assets for my life.”
Thank you, Gu sensei for all the kind and dedicated support!"

"The final of Ethics Challenge at Asia Pacific (APAC) regional level was really challenging. Completing analysis of the case and presentation slides in 48 hours, delivering the presentation to the panel within 72 hours required strong team bonding, individual commitment, timely and accurate communication.

Working with honorable Professor Dr. Gu, Fukui San and Clarence as a team, was one of the best experiences in MBA-IB. We got the opportunity to represent Japan in Ethics challenge at APAC finals for the first time and to become first runner-up team.

My sincere gratitude to Tsukuba University for showing confidence in us and to the CFA Institute for providing us good opportunity to increase our CFA knowledge.

I hope, Tsukuba University will continue to participate in Ethics Challenge in coming years and emerge as the winner of regional finals."
