Junjian Gu joined the Graduate School of Business Sciences at the University of Tsukuba in February 2018. Dr. Gu received his BSc in management from Fudan University (China) and his Ph.D in Economics from Nagoya University (Japan). Before joining the faculty at the University of Tsukuba he was the postdoctoral fellow of JSPS at Nagoya University.
His research primarily examines issues related to accounting quality, fundamental analysis, taxation, and auditing. He has published research in Academy of Accounting and Financial Studies Journal, Journal of Developing Areas. His research has won the International Conference on Business and Information Best Paper Award (2016), the Asia Pacific Conference on Business and Social Sciences Best Paper Award (2015).
Gu’s recent work examines the audit fees and cross-national distance effects of foreign direct investment (FDI), the economic consequences of voluntary IFRS adoption for Japanese listed firms, the effect of CEO’s education background on financial reporting quality, and the synergy effect of the combination with different fundamental analysis methods.
