Junjian Gu joined the University of Tsukuba in February 2018. Dr. Gu received his BSc in management from Fudan University (China) and his Ph.D. in Economics from Nagoya University (Japan). Before joining the faculty at the University of Tsukuba, he was a postdoctoral fellow of JSPS at Nagoya University.
His research primarily examines issues related to reporting quality, corporate governance, information disclosure, taxation, and auditing. He has published research in the Journal of Business Ethics, Research in International Business and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, and Management International Review, among others.
Gu's recent work examines the audit fees and national culture in multinational group audits, the economic consequences of job information disclosure in Japanese listed firms, the association between corporate philanthropy and irresponsibility, the effect of the working environment on financial reporting quality, and the effect of gender policy on corporate disclosure.
